The electricity had to be activtated by the room key card and no one told us. We struggled trying to figure out how to turn on electricity for a while. Even when the male desk clerk who was not very friendly, told us what to do, we didn't understand there was a key pad that required a card key to be inserted into it and to remain in it if we wanted electricity. This information should have been presented to us at the desk at check in with instructions. That was very frustrating. The breakfast was not what we expected. I suppose it was "continental style".

Top Tip
Great location for shopping and close to the marina/port. Bring a wash cloth because this hotel doesn't provide wash cloths, only towels.

Only had a three day break spa pool was not useable.We were told they were refilling it. It never happened. Beds were very uncomfortable, we both were crippled by the end of the stay.

Top Tip
Getting a cup of tea was difficult most of the time there was only one member of staff manning the fort.

Wasn't keen on there being no outside windows. The breakfast was excellent. Lots of good restaurants and places to see within walking distance.

We booked a disabled room as I am confined to a wheelchair which was perfect. the situation of the hotel could not have been better, very close to the Ramblas and Port Vell.

Top Tip
There are lots of resteruants to chose from, it is nice to sit on the Ramblas in the ev ening and take in the atmosphere Everything in Barcelona is expencive ie drinks and food but it is worth it.

Ideal place to stay, not too close to noisy areas, but within easy reach of La Ramblas. Would suggest requesting higher floor.

Mini bar costs were too expensive - £2.40 for a packet of crisps!!! Excellent for travellers visiting Barcelona, very central to everything.

This is a new hotel, opened Summer 07. It is a very modern, funky hotel, but is still overcoming some teething problems. The room they placed us in first was not made up, the second room unfortunately had a problem with the shower so we were forced to move again. The final room was ok, except the aircon / heating was a little unreliable. Give the hotel time to bed in. It is based in the gothic area, loads of fantastic trendy boutique style shops on doorstep. Near to port.

Hotel was more like modern apartments rather than a Hotel. Would suggest having drinks at the bar before venturing out as its really cheap compared to other bars. Hotel staff were not friendly/helpfull at all, with the exception of the gorgeous barmaid (long dark curly hair) who was lovely and helpfull, which is the only reason service/staff was marked with a 2, otherwise would have been 1 or zero if poss!!

Good hotel considering it's only rated a 3* and i was the previous week in a 4* much worse. Nice modern interior, excellent breakfast buffet (hot, cold, and pastries). Cosy sofas in bar area so you can wait for your lift to the airport in comfort! Only problem with our room was the smell of the drainage. We had to remember to close the bathroom door all day when we went out to stop the smell getting all through the room. Only two mins walk from La Rambla, and five-ten mins from the harbour.
