The Catalonia Portal De L Angel Hotel is a well liked and very well located 3 star superior hotel. It is a listed building, included in the artistic heritage of Barcelona City. Pedro Bassegoda I Mateu built it in 1876, and in 1998 it opened its doors as a hotel. Previously a small palace, it has undergone extensive renovations but it has retained its neoclassical facade, stunning marble stairs and fancy moulded ceiling. The building is not just a hotel but a piece of history and art. Guests will feel this as soon as they enter the reception hall. The marble floors the stone archways and the high ceilings create a welcoming atmosphere.
